Finland has a lot of beautiful cities that attract thousands of tourists every year. So what’s the secret of Finland? The thing is that the flora of Finland is very rich especially in summer and almost all of its land is covered by an extensive number of lakes and rivers, surrounded by forests and that make Finland’s cities so attractive. Let’s just get to know the most popular places worth visiting in Finland and what they can offer to an adventure seeking individual.

Helsinki is the capital city of Finland, surrounded by the sea and islands,where you can always feel the presence of  nature everywhere . Parks make up almost the fourth part of Helsinki, for instance the Central Park extends through the whole city. The city’s architecture, which has undergone cultural influences of the east and west, makes Helsinki worth exploring. The architectural and historical center of Helsinki is the Senate Square with its magnificent cathedral, University and the Palace State Council and here the spirit of Russian architecture is mostly noticed. The monument of Alexander II is situated  in the center of the square. During the summer, the area is used for numerous activities, festivals and cultural occasions.

Tampere is the lively center of the province of Pirkanmaa, one of the largest cities in Finland (the third largest city of Finland). Pyynikin Harju the Mountain range in the western part of the city, is considered to be one of the world’s oldest mountain ranges.  Pyynikin Harju was formed in the end of the glacial period almost 10,000 years ago and now in the highest points it reaches more than 150 m above sea level. In the western part of the ridge is the old picturesque area Pispala the working part of the city, overlooking two lakes. Architecture of Tampere includes almost all the elements of Finnish architecture and there are about twenty museums in the city.

Imatra is another beautiful city of Finland located in the south-eastern part of Finland.  RiverVuoksi which flows through the city, gave it the main attraction of this region – a marvelous waterfall. The city has its own water park, where you can have a great time with your family. The main attractions of the city are the Church of Three Crosses, Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Karelian farm of the XIX century, the Museum of the workers, etc.

Vuokatti is located in the heart of Finland, among the beautiful lakes and forested hills. This resort destination is characterized by a rare combination of all elements of winter rest. First of all there are a lot of  comfortable hotels and numerous attractions of winter pastime that may interest winter sport enthusiasts. Vuokatti is a town of  hotels and numerous cottages, restaurants and nightclubs, sports facilities and beaches, shopping malls and markets. Tennis is very popular in Vuokatti, it has more than 30 courts, and among them there are indoor and outdoor playgrounds.

Kuopio is one of the country’s best places for lovers of flat skis and skating (skating season begins in the late January). Kuopio is one of the favorite resorts not only tourists but for the Finns as well. So you if are engaged in any of winter sport then you should make Kuopio your destination.
