Helsinki Airport
Helsinki International Airport is located in the town of Vantaa, 20 km (12 miles) north of Helsinki. Helsinki International Airport is Finland’s main airport; it is also one of the busiest airports among the Nordic countries. It receives flights from major airlines throughout Europe, and also international flights among them Hong Kong, Japan, Turkey, the United States and Canada. The airport consists of 2 terminals that are connected by footbridges.

You are sure not to be lost in the airport of Helsinki as the information desks are located both in arrival and departure areas of the international and domestic terminal. You can find any service in the airport; it is equipped with banks, ATMs, currency exchange offices, post office, public phones and Wi-Fi. It is also important to mention that in IATA survey of 1999 Helsinki Airport was chosen the best airport in the world.

If you have some free time you can enjoy shopping or have some rest in of its restaurants. There are several shops, duty free shops (duty free), supermarkets, souvenir shops, etc. where you can buy something to remind you of Finland.
Here everything is taken into consideration as there are lifts, ramps, adapted toilets and other facilities for disabled people . Wheelchairs are also available upon request (with your airline).
You can reach the airport from the city of Helsinki by bus line number 615 and from Tikkurila through the line 61. The trip to downtown takes about 40 minutes. By taxi, the trip takes about 30 minutes. The stops are in front of the terminals.
