Helsinki Weather

People usually say that Finland is a cold country and associate it only with winter, however, this opinion is  exaggerated. Surely winter is the dominant season in Finland, it lasts about 4-5 months, however it does not mean that you can not enjoy the beauty of other seasons in Finland. Finnish nature is unique and very beautiful and it has all four seasons: a cold, dark winter, short spring, when everything seems to blossom, warm summers, and colorful autumn, known for its spectacular colors.

If you are to travel to Helsinki then you will find this information useful. Helsinki’s climate is influenced both by the North Atlantic ocean that brings cold streams  and the Gulf stream that brings warm air. In winter the average temperature in the coldest month January is from -3 to-15 C. The air is dry, and there is an abundance of snow on the streets.

The spring usually begins in April when the days become longer and brighter and everything seems to blossom.
In the middle of winter (December-January), the days are getting shorter and the sun even at noon anywhere in Finland does not rise high above the horizon. Summers are mild with a mild climate: daytime temperature is from +15 to +30 º C.
