Tampere

There are a lot of beautiful cities in Finland each of them having its own style and uniqueness. Tampere is the second largest Finnish city, it is also considered to be the center of education, culture and sports.
Tampere city is located in the southern part of Finland and it is situated between two lakes: Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi.

The city can trace its history back to Middle Ages that is why in Tampere you can find examples of both ancient and modern architecture, like the stone church of St. Michael (Finnish architecture from the Middle Ages) and the modern church Kaleva.

Holidays in Tampere will undoubtedly give you a lot of vivid and colorful impressions.
In Tampere there are a lot of places where you can go for shopping but the most interesting and famous shopping centers are Karhusaari and Koskikeskus. Here shopping enthusiasts can spend hours enjoying the pleasure of shopping to the full.

Tampere is also famous for its restaurants, here you can taste world and European cuisine. Almost all of restaurants are situated on the main streets. For those who like active rest Tampere offers three ski centers: “Hervanta”, “Mustavuori” and “Elli Vuori.

If you think that Tampere will interest only adults you are wrong cause Tampere is primarily a city of children: in the Valley Muumi Tampere Art Museum you can see the life of the family Muumi-Troll,  the Puppet Museum and the Museum of Costume “Hayhara” will also give unforgettable memories to your child.

Buying gifts is not a problem in Tampere as small boutiques, department stores and shopping centers are at arm’s length from each other.

You can reach Tampere just in two hours either by train or by car from the capital of Helsinki. Railway stations in these cities are located in the center.

Tampere is also known for its Pirkkala airport which is an airport of international importance.
