What can you see in Finland?

Helsinki — the capital of Finland.

This old city was founded in 1550 and located along coast of one gulfs of Baltic sea. A cozy and pure city, right in the same way as all other cities of Finland. If to start to look around the city, perhaps, from its port, where daily cruise liners go to many countries of the world. Here, in port, you will feel that Helsinki is an European city.

And then go to the center. Here everything is nearby: the Senat Square, the Cathedral, there and then nearby there is a market square where it is possible to see sedateness and validity of northern character. Necessarily you should visit a magnificent construction: the church of rock, on gray stone walls of which streams of water flown down, an organ music and candles will create inexplicable harmony. Sit here, have a rest, listen to organ. Then it is possible to visit one of the museums (in Helsinki and its vicinities there are about hundreds of them). In particular, it is possible to go on the Squirrel island it is named so by local people. It is one of largest open-air museums in Finland where the large quantity of folklore exhibits are collected.

You can have supper in one of infinite set of restaurants of the capital. Here you will be offered everything that one will ever wish. The ethnic cuisine is simple and ex centric simultaneously. The service is excellent! Finns can’t do it badly. National line!

Turku — a city, known for seven centuries. Set of historical places, churches and fortresses a considerable quantity of which exists in Finland, here are tourist places which are carefully protected by the state. From Turku, as well as from Helsinki, you can make cruise to Stockholm on the magnificent ferry, the latter is the capital of Sweden.

You had better visit a wonderful place — the city of Savonlinnu. In July, in a fortress, here passes the festival of opera music. Singers from every corner of the globe gather here.  Only here it is possible to listen to an opera under the stone arches, to take pleasure in magnificent sounding (such surprising acoustics!) to plunge into the world of royal life in the old castle of Shakespearean times! The whole population of Finland gathers here. And not only that of Finland!

However, if someone prefers Festival of chamber music, then, please, — hurry up to the northern country town of Kuhmo. But there are also other festivals. Want to listen to fate music? Go to Tamper. There is also much to see. For example, magnificent ancient church of XV century …

Fans of tango can visit the Festival at Suonenjoki.
